Hi folks.
Question1. Has anyone had an aftermarket Transmission cooler installed.
Question2. How much was it, to buy and have installed?

Cheers

I installed one myself into my old EA many years ago. Very easy job
Sorry I can't remember how much it cost but I don't believe it was very expensive, ??<$100??

Define easy :-P

There is not cooler on it at the moment, so I'd have to have (as well as a radiator) Fluid lines, gaskets, etc etc, right?

No gaskets needed, all hoses, clamps, brackets etc come in the kit along with instructions. You will need a pipe cutter, as one of your metal trans lines needs to be cut.

So it has nothing at the moment? i.e. no lines to radiator side tank?

I wouldnt worry about radiator - the aftermarket cooler will surpass what this is capable of and really isnt necessary.

Im unsure how you go about running lines from a trans which has not had them fitted previously.... is there a plug of some description in place where the lines would connect?

BTW i can read your signature

Presumably people who can't read it don't get it, and people who CAN read it wouldn't admit it :-P

Are aftermarket Trans coolers heavy?
I got my car with one, and I will never use my car for towing. Maybe I should pull it out?

Just another thing, seeing as my car use to tow something, I hope it wasn't the last owners One Million dollar yacht BTW, will my car have anything else in it, like heavier shocks or springs or is this unlikely?
First time I've actually thought about it....

Nah they extend the life of the Tranny fluid. and thus the tranny. Keeps the oil nice and cool, and stops it breaking down.

Are aftermarket Trans coolers heavy? Not really not to the point you would be concerned about anyway.

Maybe I should pull it out? Leave it in it will help look after your trans by preventing th fluid from burning.

will my car have anything else in it, like heavier shocks or springs or is this unlikely? Very Unlikely.
