i think youl find that the problem is in the cat. did you retain the stock cat or have an aftermarket one fitted????
if its still got the stock cat then it would have been modified in some way because the end piping of the pacemaker extractors are bigger then the stock ones.

I thought that also, so I fitted a 3 inch metal cat on and the induction type noise was still there. Maybe this issue is only noticeable on AU's?

Yes I have it also. Its not a bad thing. Its just what extractors do mate. They have a funny sound to them. Its normal...Kind of sounds like an induction sound actually...

I have a stock mod cat. Its shagged so im going to replace it with a high flow one soon.

Yes strange. The original 4480's didn't do it, but the revised version does. Go figure.....

Right, well I got them and a new tip fitted.
Its definitely quieter inside, I'd say its probably deeper outside though. Revs quicker, though I havent given it a caneing yet. I'll take another vid whenever I get to it. Probably after I fit the Superlows.

When I got my 4480's and a hi flow cat added to my 2.5" cat back exhaust...the note was a tad different. I didn't feel much at first, but later on you can feel the car pull harder in midrange and top end.

phong =P~

Yeh I reset the ECU just before, so that might help a bit.

Do you just DC the battery for 10min to reset the ECU?

Yeh I'm pretty sure you just disconnect it for a while.

Ive heard turning it to ignition on with the battery off helps it drain faster.

Yeh and they say that tapping the brake pedal does as well. Makes no difference. When I installed my audio gear I had the bat disconnected for about an hour at a time, (to test if things worked) about 5 times, and it reset each time.

Just disconnect it overnight if you want to reset it.

I've definetly got that induction sorta noise described before goin on. Its a bit wierd. I think I lost some of my rumble from before... I think its softer now, doesnt bark or burble as much...

What should I do? Add a 3" bit of pipe somewhere? Its a 1 muffler lukey system, so I really think it should be louder than what it is.

Yeh, it was moved back for the extractors. I dont/didnt have enough for a high flow/commo V8 cat.

I have a question for those that have 4480' fitted to the I6. After the 4480's have been fitted, has anyone noticed annoying engine noise (sounds as if a grommet has been removed or left out of the firewall) coming from the floorwell driver's side inside of the car? I noticed this straight after fitment. I did return to the exhaust fitter straight away, but no leaks were detected. I have the old version of the 4480's and a set of JMM street fighters and this issue was not apparent then. Like to hear some feedback.

Assuming your talking about an AU II falcon. Those models had a different firewall to the previous model AU. They had a layer of urethane inbetween the 2 layers of steel sheet. They were laminated to cut engine noise from the cabin. Seems a little strange, the loudness of the exhaust noise now.
