dont rely on the factory guage, its only good for impressing your mates with its movement lol

if your worried, hook up a good quality one

I got the same problem with my fairlane and I've been s**t myself lately. Cruizing at around 60km/h and the guage slowly climbs beyond its limits. Give it a short stab of the throttle then the guage drops to about halfay. Then when i start to cruize it starts to rise.

What is it supposed to do as the oil pressure guage in my brothers VL turbo rises with the revs then gets to a certtain point and stays there. If he cruizes the car it stays put.

its more than likely a loose/dirty connection on the oil pressure sender connection - heaps of fun to get to as well - on an ef its just higher and forward of the coil pack and ppl love to knock them when replacing ignition leads - on an el they're behind the dizzy so thats even more fun to get to - if you take them off and leave them hanging oil pressure goes off the chart
