Does a fairmont have as much tuning potential as the falcon? I'm assuming so as all it has are a few cosmetic changes and luxuries.

Oh and what diff ratio & maybe lsd? would a EF fairmont have

ef fairmont has a 3.08 (or is it 3.23) single spinner with optional 3.45 out of the factory, but I don't think many took the LSD option.
It has exactly the same engine as a falcon - so tuning potential is the same, except the fairmont is probably a bit heavier, and you're stuck with the crummy auto :p - in short, do the cam, chip, extractors, zorst, cat, 3.45 LSD and do a manual conversion and you'll have a pretty quick fairmont.
Or you can keep the auto and be happy with mid to high 15s :p.
