speaking of engines into small cars, i had an idea of retrofitting the 250HP V6 outboard sitting in the storeroom to the Tafe Daihatsu Charade  wonder how that would go? haha

As long as it was an alloy engine it wouldn't ruin the handling too much. Unless all your caring for is straight line performance.

Cheers

Would be a lead tipped arrow, LS donks do the job much better being all alloy.

The trouble with the I6 is its just too big and heavy for a little kit car, good chance of it ruining weight distribution and handling too.. any decent 4 cylinder motor will give it a good kick in the pants and if you still want to go faster forced induction makes a lot of sense.

On the money, for anything other than a drag car (where you dont have turn corners) why use a heavy i6 when an alloy block 4cyl jap engine makes ample power and keeps weight distro close to 50/50.

If i was ever going to do any of these projects, the first engine which would come to my mind is a 13BT. Nothing beats rotary power.

There light, high revving and can make a lot of power.

cause either you want it for straight lines or not, and if you want straight lines most people would rather an 8....and if not it weighs s**t and your better off with a lighter turbo engine

Explain, using logic, how a Clevo is better at "straight lines" then a turbo DOHC 4L.
Cause I think you are both on crack.

Considering the Turbo 6 is lighter & a long way ahead of a std 351 in power output to start with, it would look like the smarter money is with the Turbo 6.

BUT......

What about the size of the engine bay? How well does each engine fit? This is consideration for both drag racing & circuit/street. If you were wanting say a corty to remain street legal, i would be thinking there is more chance of that with a Turbo6, considering corty's did sell with the 4.1 6cyl back in the day.

Cheers

ToranaGuy
