hmmm if u treat 'em right, falcons last a lifetime, service regularly, but the main thing change the oil and oil filter every 5-8thousand k's and u will practically double the life of your car, i've seen BA Taxi's already wif nearly 500,000 on it, although wif that many there is a good chance he'd be getting close to a rebuild...

our au2 taxi has 870,000k's and we just changed to fuchs 20/50 from penzoil gas 15/40 which was used since 50,000k's, because the bottom end developed a little rattle on start ups and started drinking abt 500ml oil between services, oil and filter changed every 15,000k's will make it 10 now thou.
the only major thing problem we've had is it fried the coil pack abt 100,000k's ago.

Wow, this thread makes me confident. Mine has clocked 111 000kms under my ownership (109 000km when I got it), so looks like I have many years of driving left in the old girl.

My EL Fairmont has done 175000kms (done 65000kms myself in about 7 months) and have had nothing but problems with it since i bought it. All up i have spent around $10000 having it repaired. The gearbox blew up the first 2 months i had it, replaced the brakes (warped rotors), replaced leaking shocks (had lowered at the same time), replaced radiator along with other various things that just add up, and now the head gasket and diff are on their way out.

Must be a mondays car...

My EL Futura has clocked up 138k.

My power steering pump is making some noises but that is about all. My car sees quiet a bit of strip time too.

Looks like it will be going for a lot longer
