Diff Ratio should be a metal 'tag' hanging off one of the diff housing bolts, caked full of dirt and crap.

fairmont ghia has a tickford head

Not necesarily, depends on the model, pre EF-II they were standard engine, BA onwards standard again.

i'm pretty sure the ba's and bf's cop the same engine as the n/a xr6 :P

They do because the NA XR6's don't cop a performance engine, they get a bone stocko taxi pack pov a*** peice of crap standard donk. But obvously bodykits and fancy wheels are were the money is at these days (incase you can't tell I think BA/F Xr6's are a disgrace to the XR6 namebadge)...

hence the :P at the end of the line :P
and yes i agree, they should have a bit more go than the stocko xt's.

i'm 100% sure that the sales brochure which is with my car (the old owners kept it for some reason!!) says that the EF series 1 ghias have a power uppage over the stocko models.

so i am assuming that that is the ticky head.

its either from the sales brochure or the manual, but its all stuff i got with my series 1 EF

Hmm....the EL Fairmont Ghia wreck i bought doesn't have an aluminium tailshaft like i though it might have however it does have a 3.45 LSD, also the ECU still has a speed limiter, which i though XR6's didn't have....confuzzled :?
