Hi Guys

The Story SO Far.....

A few months ago i saw someone mod there EL so that they could use the BA GT Air Pod setup . I though what a great idea you get to run a huge pod filter in a perfectly legal airbox getting the best of both worlds. PLUS IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFERENT

Now i have been looking at doing the same mod to my ED when i convert over to EL BBM. But ive been toying with the idea of 'well if im going to be running a BA GT Pod i mgith as well go the whole hog and go a big snorkel' there for i decided to use the BA GT SS Induction snorkel.

Along the way i grab a SS Induction BA XR6Turbo Snorkel cause it was cheap and dad might like it. Well i finally brough a BA XR8/GT SS Induction and WOW its huge.....Much bigger then the Turbo one. I went to line it up and there is no way in hell its going to fit unless i mod the powersteering pump and belts and ETC. So back to the drawing boards i went.....Then i remembered the Turbo one i brough for dad. Lined it up and BINGO it lines up perfectly once i get rid of the clutch fan and radiator shroud and run thermos.

But then i though to myself well crap ive got the BA GT pod box and filter sitting here but the Turbo SS Induction only bolts onto a airbox not the pod filter so now i will have to mod the pod box to suit the Turbo snorkel instead of the GT one.

i will be modding the pod in the next few days so i will let you all know how i go.

Fingers cross the airbox setup should be at the end of it all BA XR6Turbo SS Induction Snorkel with modified BA GT Pod Box with BMC Pod Filter going to JMM Ultra Flow piping to the EL BBM.

Cheers

Spider

P.S. Why the hell did i bother :P

Do you reckon it's worth all the trouble? probbabluy would be if the engines had some work,
Reason I ask is tatha I noticed jack crap from a Tickford snorkel and K&Nm, after that there's noway I could justify after that spending the money on an SS snorkel

go for it i say. even if you only get a small increase you will never have to upgrade again if you take the engine mods further.

why bother running autolite plugs for the extra 2kws?
why bother running a k&n filter for extra 1 kw?
why bother running a au snorkel instead of a el snorkel for extra 2 kws lol

YEAH but at what cost :?: If the cost is all good then go for it. But these people that put those wanky SS inductions in for a "burning" $300 are just plain stupid.
Ha ha get my sideways action

True I guess. But honestly I worked with this guy at UPS who owned a Holdung VT-5litre SS and he even told me he was so dissapointed when after he fitted one of those SS inductions it didn't have that seat of the pants feel that he thought he would get after installing it.
