G'day I need some advice about my eb1 cfi 3.9l (1.) can the tfi be replace without removing dizzy from car (2.) I was going to replace the complete dizzy with a new bosch one but was only able to find a mpi 4.0l localy was told it would need to be moditfed was quoted $235.00 for dizzy and $285.00 to moditfy it and install & set timing etc

the price
If i can replace the TFI in car without removing dizzy i will try to do it myself I don't like removing dizzys because in my old xf the oil pump drive droped into the sump an it cost me $$$$ to get that fixed
Any advice would be helpful and appreciated
THANKS :)

Hi, and welcome to Fordmods.

I was able to swap out the TFI module on my EB MPFI engine without removing the dizzy. It is awkward and fiddly, but can be done.

Make sure you have some thermal/heat paste available if you are putting in a second hand one.

Cheers
BenJ

It gives me a lot of hope to see that you were able to replace a TFI module on a MPFI EB as you would have had a lot less space to work in compared to my CFI EB :D
I will get me mate to pick up the new module the saleperson said it has that paste paid $65 aca brand that's a lot cheaper than get the new dizzy +mod/installed
AGAIN THANK YOU :D
