ok so im looking at fitting a dedicated gas motor to my EF that died the other week. ive heard its a relatively easy conversion with just the air conditioning bolt holes to be grinded back as well as either the k frame or sump being cut. I also heard ill need to use an AU2 alternator.. anything else i should know?

Cutting the k frame is a road worthy issue im sure of it but is there any other way around it would cutting the sump mean i wouldnt need to cut the k frame

Yea if you mod the sump no modification is needed on the k frame

Ive never done this conversion but I think you only use the au engine, with the ef accessories, like air con, and alternator

when you drill the baffle out, your left with the side mounts with NO means to hold the baffle in place.

clean the mounts with an angle grinder or a larger diameter drill, then drill and tap the mounts to fit bolts in to hold the baffle.

hey guys so an update on how im going.. just bout to remove the ef motor.. however just wondering the best way to detach the tranny from the engine as there is a drum connected to the fly wheel and pulling this out buggers the seal which buggers the tranny (so ive been told). how can i easily remove the 4 bolts from the flywheel that attach to the drum?'

also what sensors from the ef need to be fitted to the au motor?
