if its just a colour screen without climate control it will go straight in, however you will need to get it "paired" with the pcm at a dealership.

If its a dual zone climate control unit it takes alot more work, but is still doable.

Thanks I Have been told by Dale Ford that it is a big job and not worthwhile the unit I was looking at is just a standard six stacker with a colour screen.

as i said if its just the colour screen but no climate control its a straight swap, and a quick reprogram.

Ford do emply him :)

The dealer you spoke to was probably trying to put you off, its probably not a job they're interested in doing given its not really a standard procedure. If you swap the ICCs yourself (easy job, done in ten minutes) then ask Ford to reprogram your car to suit it will probably be the easiest way to go.
