Hey guys,

New member here - I've Just bought a 97 Ford Falcon 4.0 Gli dual fuel with bench seat and column shift. Since buying it 2 weeks ago, I've done nearly 4000km's with absolutely no problems, apart from the fact that I'm really missing Cruise control!

Now, after extensive research, I've only found one thread on any forum which mentions a non-ute Falcon having a cruise control with column shift and it's here.

However, I know that it wasn't a dealer fit option, so I was wondering why was that? Was it a safety risk with the passenger so close to the driver? Is the column shift missing a vital switch?

As for the fitting itself, I've looked at the guide on here and it looks relatively straight-forward. I'm 99% sure that my car is ABS equipped as it has the Hydraulic modulator behind the wing in front of the passenger wheel and I think I felt it come on the other day!

I'm hoping to buy the cruise control module, steering wheel control switches, brake pressure switch and actuator cable second hand - what should I expect to pay roughly?

Finally - how long should I allow for the installation?

Sorry for all the questions, but I've exhausted all of the search engines!

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the link, but I thought I made it clear in my post that I'd read the document and understood it. I was just checking that there wasn't something different in the column shift as is a logical thought when Ford never offered it as an option with the column shift.

Thanks for clearing it up though.
