what would cause a EB 4.0l to have a flat spot just off idle, its like just off idle the car dies but if you put the foot down a little bit past it and it will hesitate like its going to stall then takes off, even at cruise the first part of the pedal is dead, any idea's ??

when your put your foot down does it sortof seem to lag and shudder?
cos this happened in my ef, and it ended up being a loose lead. check that first!

Had the same problem on my EL I6 but only when starting off cold. Changed the IAT sensor (Intake Air Temp) and all fixed. Dont buy from Ford as they are $100 dearer than Repco that sells them for around $36.00

no shutter the engine basically stalls, i have just replaced the head and it never had this problem before the head change, doesn't matter what temp the engine is or any particular speed just happens under the first bit of acceleration once it finds it feet it accelerates like normal
