EL distributor runs off the auxiliary shaft which is also runs your oil pump. It will be too much hassle to even try to relocate it. Why do you need to relocate?

You're better of changing to electronic ignition like EF/AU if the distributor NEEDS to be moved.

As Phongus said, no, it cannot be relocated.

You could get a custom offset dizzy like this.

It's a bit of a long story guys. But my supercharger will not fit with the dizzy in its current location.
Well actually it does fit however once the supercharger goes on I cannot access the dizzy anymore. If I had to I would need to remove the whole blower.

So what can I do guys?

Change to EF Setup - Coil Packs. need ECU, wiring etc though. Cam and Crank sensors should bolt onto your EL

I'd change the supercharger setup so that you can access the dissy, There's several supercharged EL's with a distributor.

Agree with Nigel...I'd go for coil pack set up. You can then tune ignition/timing etc through J3 chip if that's what you are using to run the whole set up.

EDIS6, coilpack and a crank angle sensor (plus cam angle sensor to keep oil pump drive. would be the easiest method of ditching the dizzy.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I will just convert over to the EF set up. I am already running a complete standalone ecu. I am using a wolf V550 ecu.

I don't think changing over from the dizzy to the coil pack set up I should loose any power either!

Coil pack will be better.

Well looks like I shall be switching over to the coil pack set up. Can anyone recommend a decent coil pack set up that would support decent power?

Just steal a coil pack from an AU or EF. You will need a few other things too.

EF engine loom and computer from passenger kick panel. Get a programmable J3 chip from tiperformance.com.au
EF harmonic balancer (it has teeth like an ABS ring so the computer knows the angle of the crank) and the sensor that sits at the 12 oclock position above it
The "cam angle sensor" (which goes in the hole you just pulled the dizzy out of - at least you *never* need to service it)

Guess you know about higher pressure fuel reg and fitting injectors from an AU?

You can mount coil pack up near shock tower if need be....

My engine is 98 EL XR6 converted to EF...
