I've had the car for about 2 weeks now and everything has been running great, but when I tried to start it this morning it wouldn't even idle. Although all the electrical indicators came on along with the radio, all that would happen under the hood was a slight electrical operator sounding noise and a beep. We are yet to see other professionals but we did have a battery specialist come over and he confirmed it had nothing to do with the battery although he suspected it had something to do with some kind of inhibitor or main body module in the cars computer system. If anyone can relate to this kind of problem It would be much appreciated

Was there a hand flashing away on the dash?

If so, it's a PATS security issue and you won't be able to start the car till you get it sorted.

Did you get a key cat or a battery disconnected or an electrical problem changed/fixed recently? PATS issues can happen for lots of reasons.. but usually something has been changed before it happened?

Is the light around your key coming on correctly? If not it might be a faulty ring reader module. (the clear plastic thing around your key barrel)

There is a 20 amp fuse in the fuse box behind the battery.. it's labelled IG SW (look under the lid) but if that is blown nothing comes on as all power to the column is dead.

Sorry I should have updated earlier. The person I recently bought the car off was a licensed car salesman and was eager to help on the situation hence paying for any replacements needed.
He called an NRMA specialist to come take and look and all that was needed was a new starter motor. Got it replaced in no time. Appreciate the help anyways thanks.
