If it was built before 1998 then there will be no difference between the two if they're melted back and recycled... or use as land fill!

Well falcon1999 on the EF/EL's the front of the car got bit of a facelift, not as noticeable on the AU's though...

Here's a pic of the front of my EL fairmont
Image

The rear of EF/EL Fairmonts also look 100 times better than futura's, GLI's and they have a 3.23 diff standard as opposed to a 3.08diff, climate control A/C, etc .................

Actually not many cars dont have the 3.23.
My EF Futura did, some auto gli's don't, thats about it.

Also the rears are the same except for one, and possibly a second piece of chrome, both of which can be had for $20 ea.

As for LSD on EF/EL fairmonts, it was a no cost option, and std on ghias from EF11 on.

Two letters and about 50 bucks worth of wreckers parts!

You fail at fords, hense you brought a series 1 AU. Id like to see you find a complete fairmont or ghia interior for $50 as well as all the extra Electrical parts. E series electric window conversions can start for around $250 most of the time with out the main controls which are more than $50.

It all depends on what series, you have an AU. Its mostly interior and electric upgrades, power windows, low coolant sensors, electric seats ect ect. Some have better than base model motor, diff. They usually fitted with similar drive train to the XR of the era except they only come with factory auto.

Then again the fairlanes have even more stuff then a fairmont ghia.
