In my personal experience.

FACTORY-STOCK
AUTO V6 (VN-VR) RAPE AUTO I6(EA-ED)
MAN V6 (VN-VR) JUST quicker then MAN I6 (EA-ED)
AUTO V6 (VS) beats AUTO I6(EF-EL)
MAN V6 (VS) a bit slower then MAN I6 (EF-EL)

At the end of the day i bought the ford because modifications are cheaper and the I6 has more potentional. My car ran a 14 with about 1000 dollars(diff/cam/exhaust) spent in performance modifications. Spending 1k on a vn v6 i will still be running a 15.

PLUS most v6's sound like s**t. ive only heard 2-3 ones that actually sound good.

yeah good on ya mate! want a medal for beating a 6 in your 8? by looking at ur signature you ahve spent s**t more money then me on performance and you have a v8 so if you didn't beat me it would be embarrasing.

It's good to see some people cut the s**t here.

So many people on this forum are just like the commo fags they "hate".
The cars both have their positives. I personally hate driving an automatic car, and that is why I drive a falcon, because the manual falcon has more power off the line and up top over auto and manual v6 commodores.
When it comes to comparing autos, stock for stock the lighter body and shorter gears is always going to make the commo quicker to 100 - the "i can reel it in at 120" argument is s**t, because street racing is about 0-100 nothing further.
That said, the extra torque of the falcon is awesomely handy for towing and such.

Out and out performance auto to auto the commo has us covered.
Manual to manual give me a falcon.
Interior - commodore no competition until vy.
Ride comfort - falcon again.
Overall - comparing the 6 I believe the falcon model for model is a better car on the whole, but at stock level we just can't escape the quicker v6...

For the Falcon:

I have some old magazine scans comparing EBII GLi to VP exec - both autos.
The Falcon gets 0-100 in 9.3, and the commodore in 9.6.

There's another article comparing EBII 4.0L to EB1 3.9L, and the 3.9L gets 9.6s, same as the commodore.

Another one I have an ED XR6 beats the ED XR8, VR SS, and VR 'S' - all auto.

For the Commodore:

Another one I have is where a VN 5-speed beats an EA- 5-speed.
Funnily enough I also have VL Turbo 5-speed versus EA S-pack 5 speed, and the falcon is quicker lol.

In a commodore, you can feel it vibrate thorugh the steering wheel, and you can almost always hear that mechanical clanging going on upfront.

I must have a commodore engine in my EL.. I can definately tell its idleing, and feel it vibrating ;)

Never been beatin by any Holden 6 off the line and never been able to catch. Raced 2 supercharged VT's, even untill about 110 then i pull away. Only reason ford auto would loose off the line is because of how much the car spins when ya stomp it.

I got my a** handed to me by a VL in my EA, I was sad for weeks. But my BA smoked an sv6 no problems. Funnily enough, my mates VT 5spd was a lot quicker than the sv6, I wish I had a manual :(
