I have an EL Ghia with Tickford 6 in it. It has done 139,000km now. It seems to pull hard, no leaks, doesnt use any oil. Seems pretty bullet proof.

If I wanted to freshio it up a little, what should I do? Recondition the motor? Whats this going to cost? Including labour, drive in drive out.

If its running right, is it better to leave it alone, freshion it up later?

you shouldn't need to do a recond at only 140 thousand ... you say you got no problems with it - leave it alone!!!

i'd be spending money on a good cam/exhaust package not reco'ing a motor thats only done 139,000 k's!! These I6's will last many a km if looked after well.

If it seems alright, it probably is.. my EL was perfectly fine at 300,000k's when I sold it.

if the engine has al the oils n coolant and other service aitems looked after over the life of the engine you should easily get 200.000km+ before thinking of a freshen up...

save ur money until u start burning oil. If u give it a hard time it should stats burning oil by the time u get to 180000km. Then do ur rebuild.

i wouldn't bother with a freshen at those kms if it shows no signs of wear.

i just did mine at 220 000km. just a re-ring and bearing, new chain and guides. nothing over the top.

you'd be looking at about $600 in parts to do it properly.
