My EF gets 600km to a tank of Ultimate, and that's with a number of performance mods - despite the auto, street tyres and 3.08 diff it runs 14.9sec quarters and sees plenty of throttle when accelerating during normal driving. Even if I pull a trailer for 100km it still returns 570km to the tank...

that deffinately not normal. my dad used to have a BA MK1 XR6 turbo, 5 speed manual, and around town it would average 11-12L/100km. that wasnt pushing it, but it was p***y footing it around like a grandpa either lol.

my XF wagon, 5 speed on petrol will average 12L/100km around town, and 9.2L/100km on the hwy, thats running 98 octane. i would have a talk to Ford, cos if its a NA xr6 thats using a lot of fuel.

im deffinitly not replacing my 02 sencors, as they are like 800$ for both, thats from ford, wtf..
and asked if 17.2 was normal, he said driving around town will be around 14 to 18 L per 100ks, and from 10 to 14 on highway, so its all good,

They are. OP doesnt believe driving style influences it. I'm sitting on 12.2L/100 average in my Fairlane, doing 600k's a week through the CBD in peak hour. Driving style is the biggest influence in fuel consumption. I had an AU XR8 that I could(driving style dependant) achieve between 12L/100 and 21L/100.

I think people just lie about how much fuel they get out of there cars on this site, funny stuff.
if u do a bit of highway driving ur obviously gunna get good consumption, i live on the northern beaches. Lots of traffic, therefore lots of traffic lights.
custom tune soon and few mods should be sweet.....

No benefit in me s**t mate! I do 50k's each way to and from work. RIGHT THROUGH THE CBD and get 500k's before my fuel light comes on. 520k's, 60-62L to fill.

haha yer some people might lie but i dont, because I own an 87 falcon and am quite proud of how economical it actually is. i live and work in suburbia, so i dont do a lot of hwy driving. my car is on dual fuel, and around town on LPG (72 usable ltrs) i get 430+kms to a tank, sometimes ill get up to 500 a tank. on petrol both the in car trip computer and my calculations it averages as i said earlier anywhere between 11L/100km and 13L/100km around town, and 9.2L/100km on the hwy, as proven when i drove it to Adelaide and back just a month ago.

and i dunno about you, but i can tell you now that changing my driving style deffinately changes the economy. today i had off, so i went for a nice drive up the windys, and sure, i have got a lot less ks this tank than i normally would.

Nope. I'll even pull out the ECU and take a pic of the J3 port as proof! I do have an exhaust and a K&N Filter though.

i should probably add, my XF has been fitted with extractors, a hi flow cat, and 2" custom sports exhaust, and a K&N panel filter in the stock air box. all of which cos me...$650 the extractors and exhaust, and $50 for the filter, so $700 total, and a lifetime of saving $$$ on fuel bills :)
