hey

Just wonderin, on an ef, is 'empty' when the it is pointing to the top of the orange block or the bottom of the orange block? The light goes on when its at the top of the orange but not sure if its just a warning or it is almost empty.

Cheers

P.S. I just bought it, this is why I dont know lol

you're probably both right! they're not the most accurate of things.

According to the EF Owners Manual, there is approx 10 litres remaining when the needle first touches the orange segment or when the low fuel light comes on.

according to the manual the light supposed to signify 10L left in the tank as a reserve. But they nowhere near accurate, I know when it comes on, my trip comp says about 75k's til empty.....but my needle also lives in the orange....

so in answer to the original Q, bottom of the light is empty.

I was always under the impression that the fuel light came on with a pre determined DTE. Even in my futura (no trip meter) the light seems to come on with different fuel readings and is more prone to coming on when you're giving it a bit of shtick.

that would also depend on your current liters per 100 km's ... ie you'll get a much higher reading if you've done highway cruising as opposed to city driving start-stop etc...

Yes, but I mainly meant, the light comes on when your going into reserves.
