i have no heater working at all.now i know the things to check out but need to clarify something with the digital climate control on my el.everytime i start the car the digital display for the climate control blinks three or four times on start up???now is this telling me i have a fault or what???any tips appreciated cheers matt

I think if you hold down the off and floor buttons it will do a reset and come up with any code errors.

If your climate control is flashing for 6 seconds on start up then there is a fault in the system.
You will have to do a self test on the climate control. For EF/EL press OFF & MODE together until you see the screen with 88.8 and everything will be on the screen. Once the test is done it will either bring up a error code from E1 - E8 or if it just goes back to the OFF screen then the climate control can't find a fault with the system. Hope this helps Rick |

Ummm nar mate, the air con works fukin realy well, like 14c haha
And if i crank up to 32c it just stays cold

seems we have the same problems then...i aint clued up on how to check the fault codes so any help on this one??i am clinging to some hope that maybe i dont have to pull half my dash out to fix it..but i think im up s**t creek though

well ok did the test twice now and everything comes up on climate control screen but no error codes present???so does this mean that my blend door isnt broken,or is it something like the heater tap then??...thanks to rick for the the diagnosis test

Can you hear the blend door motor making noises while it's doing a test ?
I would assume that either the hose has come off the heater valve. Or get the car warm & check both heater hoses to see if they are both hot. |

well mate i can hear a noise from down there a vacuum type noise??like the climate control switching to floor??

The noise from the blend door motor should be like a grinding type of noise it's hard to explain how it sounds.
The vacuum noise you can hear is inside or out side the car ? |

the vacuum noise is coming from say passenger side of lower dash??isnt that where the blend door is behind the glovebox

No mate blend door motor is on top of the heater box ( around the centre air vent area) blend door motor is run by 12volt not by vacuum.
I would get the glove box out and check your vacuum lines are plugged in. |
