Yeah, many people remove the fuse as they dont care for ABS, also often removed to stop the ABS light from coming on (i.e. when there is a problem with the system). Does not affect braking except for lockup conditions.... so you're on your own if stand on brakes in the wet, etc.

What do you mean by connecting piece?

I think you will find that since the contact is missing, your car isnt optioned with ABS.

Its the same deal as cars without power windows- they still have the spot for the fuse, but one of the contacts is missing, and of course, there is no fuse in place.

EF's still had optional ABS in some models.

yep so as waggin said, no ABS for you! futura & above were fitted with ABS, not Gli's - so your car is as it should be

It was of course an option on GLi.

If you want to make certain, have a look at the Master Cylinder. You will find 3 brake lines running off it if it is non-ABS. The smartlock models only have 2 brake lines running off it. The 3rd outlet has a hex bolt plugging up the vacant line.

EDIT: i meant ABS, not smartlock :P

but all EF's are smartlock though aren't they? so therefore that check would only ensure that your car has smartlock?? :P

Spose you could always stick your head behind the passenger-side front wheel arch guard. ABS module kinda hard to miss so should be obvious if nothing there.

My bad. I meant ABS :) I've been talking about smartlock and non-smartlock for the last 2 weeks while trying to locate looms for my V8 conversion. LOL
