What gains if any would you get from onto a putting a 3.9l head ( giving the motor a higher compression ) onto a 4.0L tickford motor. Also what would be involved and also would you have to change the octane rating in the fuel.??

The gains in comp would be offset by the worse flow, there is a reason they dumped the swirl ridge.
Plus the tickford head has a larger exhaust valve, the 3.9 doesnt.
93DT head is just better.
Its just generally a bad idea.

You are much better off shaving your head to increase the compression and getting a cam as the 93dt is a good head. the 3.9 head is a peice of s**t.
