Ok, I'm getting EL thermos put into the ea, and I'm getting a sparky to wire it up, due to my lack of tools (I'm a long way from home) and experience. Now, I've gotten my hands on an EF/EL radiator, I've flushed it, no holes, but filthy as hell.

Now sparky said: Have the radiator switched round (with EF/EL one) and fan off and such, and he'll put in thermos and wire. Now he said if I wanted he can get some one to put in new radiator, and remove clutch fan, but it'll cost extra understandably, IF i dont do it myself. Is there anyone around that can be recommended to switch my radiator on Gold Coast? Because I was told that to be careful switching myself, because of airblock/airlock.

Also there was something about radiator size differences with EL to EA? Can this be easily rectified? It's due to be done before next Wednesday 9th august.

Thanks in advance.

In fact, anyone around Gold Coast that's done a conversion, with some spare time, backyard and some tools would get paid as well.
I really don't want to pay $200 in labour for something thats really a backyard job.

Yes exactly why I wanted to free some up for the dyno day. Never mind, I'll go beg one of the workshops around Gold Coast.
But I'll have thermos, and the XG snorkel for the run on saturday so it will definitely be worthwile.

You dont want to switch your radiator. The EF/L Radiators have a smaller water outlet so youd be changing the water pump, and then changing to serpentine belts etc etc etc.

If you have had your radiator replaced, theres a good chance the bottom-left clip is already on the tank. The bottom-right one most people *ignore*, and the top two screws are the same as for EA/B/D

Undoing the fan is the hardest part, and if your belts are ok and you have a good spanner (I have here somewhere) it comes of pretty quick (but remember its a backward thread!). Unscrew fan, remove shroud + Fan, install new Thermos and you are away. Of course, that doesnt take account of switching them on and off, but im sure your onto that.

DAMMIT! Never mind, I'll shoot to wreckers tommorow and exchange for ED radiator, I dont want to piss-f@rt around with changing water pumps and belts. Everything else is sorted out though, thanks for the info.
