I think your mates dad got taken for a ride, i dont even think it would cost that much for a full stainless system.

If the stock cats in good condition, with a 2 1/2" flange mod it'll flow equally as well.

i don't disagree! it was way too much to pay for an exhaust

Yes, some AU's do have IRS. Means they have a different tail pipe (everything else is the same), they replacement tailpipe is not much different, and definately doesn't add 2 grand to the price.
3 grand is never going to be right unless it's gold plated. i'd be wondering if it was actually 3 grand, or if he's just saying it was to talk it up.

hi mate for what its worth, i had a 2.5" redback catback, 1 muffler 1 resonator, and now have just put a set of pacemaker extractors on.

the sound is gorgeous, specially under load between 2,000-2,500rpm

might as well replace the cat at the same time with the new exhaust. Can get them off eBay for 170 + post...HERE

Heres a sound clip with 2.5" exhaust and cat, extractors and single offset straight-thru muffler. Really deep sound, quite different ive found to other falcons with aftermarket exhausts

yeah i did, and coupled with the cam its a pretty dissapointing result, but then again the power curve is a lot better and its making power right through the range so i cant be too upset i guess...

though it feels like the cam has done its job and yeah the extractors just didnt do as much as i thought... apart from giving a sexy exhaust note.

i dont know the exact type, i got them for a slab of beer off a mate, 3 into 1's

yeah it dosn't really matter what peak power is, its the curve which is the main thing. Have you got a highflow cat or has your orginal cat been raplaced?

I would think you should be mid 140's to high 140's with what you got though

Is there somthing that has to be set up with the cam? id get the timing advanced aswell, gives you s**t loads more torque down low

yeah its not a wild cam so i dont think timing is an issue, but could be a raod to go down possibly.

like i say im happy, the power comes on harder and stays on longer than before, and the car revs A LOT freer than before.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion i suppose. It was a full stainless system with hi-flo cat and extractors. I might ask him for a copy of the reciept. Didn't help he has no idea about cars though. He took the car in and told him what he wanted based on what a mate told him to get. And yes his car has IRS
