:D decided to take my car to my trusted Motorcraft Automotive in Cambellfield who managed to fix my EL. After leaving my car in a struggle for almost 6 months...i decided to just take her to the mechanic and he looked after her. After $110 the car now actually idles...doesn't hunt for it in any gear position...car has more torque now compared to before and it made a whole lot of a difference.

The problem to my car was that my rocker cover wasn't on properly and the gasket in between was in an awkward position making a vacuum leak....hence the poor fuel consumption...which also robbed me of power. The other problem was the main one...which was the base timing....the sprocket was off by 2 teeths and they were all wondering how it moved 2 teeth. So they fixed that so that the teeths were even and stuff and also reset the base idle as well as the timing....and now she runs like a beaut....can't wait till full exhaust YAY

Just wanted to let some people know =D

phong =P~

EDIT:

UPDATE:

After some hours of working under the car with the helpful mark (punktured) we managed to cut the old exhaust off and put the 2.5" lukey exhaust that was sitting in my bedroom...now i have more space in the room phew.

Car sounds better but i was expecting it to be louder but from what ive read in previous threads it takes a while for it to sink in...or settle in...though i think i didn't do the bolts tight enough because it was leaking water after i tested it....condensed water im guessing that was stuck in the cat converter. hopefully ig et time to fix it tomorrow.

besides that im pretty happy =D cant wait to get extractors and chuck that in too WOOT WOOT.

just wanted to tell people.

=D

You mean the guys that fixed my car Paul?

They are on Truck City Road in Cambellfield and was fomerly called A1 until they bought it out and called it Motorcraft Automotive and also A1 Gas Systems or something. I have a sticker on the back window :P. But yeah they are good fellas and they know their Fords since they are Ford fanatics :D. One of the owners used to own a GT 351 and an XY I think and one owns an EL and the other an EB...both nice cars ^_^

I'd recommend them to anyone in the area if you want something fixed and done right.

cheers

Gaz...good news for me =D...fuel consumption is slowly decreasing. lets just hope it gets to about 13L/100km =D

Never heard of the vacume problem. That a new one to me. But how did you get your timing out by 2 teeth? Some one must have played with it at some stage. Should go back to whoever worked on it last and ask what the hell they were doing.

BS...no such thing as a vacuum leak on a rocker cover.....its called an oil leak if the rocker cover gasket is not sealing, as oil will be leaking out not vacuum, the rocker gear generates positive pressure ie no vacuum, would just be pushing oil out and would not affect fuel consumption or anything :roll:

they are telling you BS but as long as its fixed its ok I guess :?
