The rear resonator has come off! I absolutely LOVE the new sound now! Such V8-ness haha. Dunno why I had it on before, just because I rear a few complaints about them without a reso.

Satisfaction has now gone from 15 out of 10, to about 40 out of 10!

Many thanks for the advice guys, it was definitely worth the chop.

On a side note, I kept the rear reso just incase I need to put it back on for some reason (red n blue lights lol).

Hey mr_rx7_ is your muffler straight through? I was thinking of changing my 'turbo' style muffler (holes where pipe connects aren't straight through).. Also is your muffler in the centre or rear?

It's a straight-through muffler in the centre of the car. I had a rear resonator but got it chopped.

Mate, u gotta get a 2.5" Lukey straight-through with only one muffler, nothing else. They rock!

I'll get a sound clip for ya sometime soon.

nice work mate.

I too got rid of my rear resinator on my 2.5in Redback Exhaust about 1month after having it installed and stored it in the shed . It now sounds awesome.

I still remember after the exhaust bloke just finished lowering the car of the hoist and when he started it. I said to myself "now that's what I'm talking about"..........nice deep note and idle sounds wicked................

Cheers....................

Exactly my reaction. When he fired her up I was all nervous wondering how it would sound and then I had a 2.5" smile on my face haha. (Bad joke I know lol).

Idle is so V8 its not funny, especially on a cold start. Now I just need to get a lumpy cam and its all complete lol.

tickf4d_xr6,
The pod is in the stock airbox. I got the instructions from the 'Technical Documents' section, labeled as 'Boxing Pod Filter (The simple way)' written by lukey.

http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23157

Takes all of about 10 minutes and works a treat. You might want to add another induction pipe coz I'm not too sure that one snorkel is enough.
