Maybe look into a different regulator, when you rev it high the pressure may be sufficient but when it idles it might be too much pressure causing the spluttering?

Flooding once you back of the throttle, then it stalls and won't.start being flooded of fuel. How long after it stalls will it start?

Take a fair bit of winding plus throttle it will splutter then rev hard,,, with out throttle she won't start

Have you run diagnostics yet? It will eliminate most sensors have you replaced the crank shaft sensor? Maybe a clean will help

as you have fitted it to your xa, have you fitted the map sensor which is normally mounted to the firewall on the e series??
