can i swap my yellow bem/smartlock for a green high series one?

are they a straight swap?

reason i ask is because my yellow one is fried

Edit: my car is an EBII with a yellow BEM and the green one is out of a EF

I didn't think EA-D had BEMs, i thought it was just a smartlock module?

EBII/ED BEM's and smartlock are separate modules - these were combined in the EF/EL BEM.
In theory it would be possible to fit an EF/EL BEM, but the wiring connection changes would be a lot of work.
Stick to a BEM out of an EBII/ED GLI/futura.

if they are seperate modules then why do people say they are both under the dash near the handbrake?? my car only has one module under there and its a yellow box,

im confused now

derrr i kinda sounded stupid when i said that lol. i know they are both under there but i meant on my car i only have 1 module under there.

my car is a April 1993 EBII so it has smartlock
