Hey guys Iam new here on these forums .Nice to see something different.Anyway I was wondering if anyone apart from myself has modified an EA 3.9L and has decent power.Last dyno run was 140kw (dynos vary) and it ran a 15.1 with a crow 825, and all the normal mods.I have since fitted a Surecam and it ran slower.ALot of people are telling me its because its a 3.9 and head and bottom end will never make power drop a 4 litre in it.Just thought I'd see what you guys have experienced. Thanks

The saloon cars were all 3.9's and would put most 4.0's on here to shame even with all the class restrictions.

I n the EA's, the early autos ran a 2.77 diff, and the manuals had 2.92 diff.
I think when the 4sp autos came out, the had 3.08's or 3.27's

Is it auto? That's one generous dyno!

there have been a couple of 10sec turbo i6 ea falcons on fullboost.com.au, a red one and a white one. :)

red one belongs to jim mock motorsport, and the white one is on page 4 in the videos section.

3.9 is not much different to the 4.0, imo

Its a manual with 3.45:1 diff gears. The dyno should have read more like 120 kw,after placing the figures in a horse power calculator. Thanks for the response.

14.8 was with 2.92 single spinner

then i threw in a lsd 2.92 and was running 14.6s

Still would do alot better with a decent diff, maybe a 3.9
