Hey guys, so I've started on replacing my head gasket, I've gotten to the stage where I remove the head bolts, and noticed that one of the bolt heads has been rounded off (I'm guessing that they have been changed previously) any idea on how I would be able to get that bolt off? I'm not wanting to grind edges onto the bolt for obvious reasons

Get a slightly smaller socket an drive it onto the damaged head bolt. Refit the other bolts around it to take the tension off the damaged one, then just undo the others when the bolt is out. Be careful when driving it on so you don't miss.

Get a short heavy punch/drift.....about 19mm in diameter, and about 150mm long.
Sit this on top of the rounded bolt, and give it a few good whacks with a 2 lb hammer.
This will shock the bolt into letting go of the cyl head at the flange of the bolt.

IF you really get stuck, buy a cheap socket and weld it to the bolt.
