What are the best exhausts to suit my car and where to get it installed?

Got two quotes from Genie and G & T Performance $450 same prices ???
I like it to be loud not to loud but loud so u can hear it down the road...hehe
For 2 1/2" inch Exhaust without extractors

If i were to get extractors with the exhaust what would it benefit with having extractors?

What are you opinions and what brand Exhausts would be recommended

Regards ND

just got my exhaust finished:

PACIE 4480 comp series extrtactors - 360
HI FLOW cat - 300
LUKEY cat back - 190
TIP 55
FITTING 150

TOTAL 1055

i rang aound heaps for the extractors, each place tried to beat each other, i ended up getting 200 off retail. bought the lukey cat back through prints and originaly fitted it myself, however it wobbled (dodgy rubber). fitting quote for extracors was 120, but he said extra 30 to fix wobble, while it was being fitted we noticed a crack in the cat so i bought a hi flow while i was there. only problem is it is still pretty quiet, i might swap rear lukey muffler for a hot dog. otherwise you can buy the lukey cat back without the rer muffler (just one muffler and pipe to tip) for about 135. i probably should have done that.

I'd suggest Hallam Performance (for anyone in melb), I got a tentative quote for 500, twin 2.5" system mufflers etc. supplied and fitted

i just got my car done the other day,

PACIE extrtactors were $400 fitted and the 2 1/2 inch mandral bent with one straight throw muffler was $280 fitted.

i dont know anyone in perth so i would get PACIE extrtactors and ring around and get the best price for the rest.

If I were you I would go to JMM. (Jim mock motorsport). I have pace makers and a 2.5 inch mandrell bent system and I am selling the extractors so I cam buy a set of Streetfighters from them.

What are the advantages of getting extractors with the exhaust?
Does is make it louder or can u have it loud without extractors?

What if i was just to get the exhaust system 2 1/2 inch mandral bent system with standard extractors?????

Regards ND.

About $200 for a high flow cat converter
$200 onwards for the exhaust
$10 onwards for the tip
$250+++++ for headers /extractors
+ labour if they don't do it for free since you bought it from them
+gaskets, rubber mounts, etc.

extractors will give you a bigger performance increase than just replacing the exhaust with a bigger one. Not too sure if it'll change the sound, but i'd imagine it would.

Extractors won't make it louder or softer, but might change the noise a bit.
They make the car run more efficently, more power and better economy when crusing.
Advantage of buying them wiht the exhaust is you often get a cheaper deal.

i originaly only had a cat back, and when i got the extractors and hi flow cat on it made a hell of a difference in volume and performance.

The short short version, is that engine rely on moving air, thats why people put so much money into porting heads etc, to move air quickly with little turbulance. Headers are just the other end of the pipeline when it comes to moving air, they make sure that the exhuast passages are clear by allowing better flow etc etc. So yes more pulling power is generally the way people put it, but more power is the result all the same. As for note, if ur buying an exhuast purely for note than I reckon just get a loud stereo..... and lend me some of that money to put to a better use! :P

I got quoted $160 to replace a "front" muffler on my car. From my understandingon a stock car (mine) it goes, Extractors, Cat, Resonator, Front muffler, rear muffler.

Can the Front muffler be just totally removed, or replaced with a hotdog?

I really don't have a clue when it comes to exhaust systems so any help would be great.

That'd be mainly due to changing cat converters!
