hey.

I am doing the jaycar lock thing and now the car wont start. The int light and radio wont turn start. Wipers work (checked that because they didnt work when my old BEM was f**k).

Its cranking but no sign of kicking. The Smartlock remote wont work but everything else is fine.

Is my BEM killing my injectors and thats why it isnt kicking over???

HELP cause i need the car by tomorrow.

is it possbile that when i touched the ECU one of the wires may have come loose and it is stopping it that way?

is ur smartlock light flashing fast?
have you tried to program it?
have you checked the 'Main fuse' on the drivers side in the engine bay?

If its blown, replace it with the ABS fuse to 'try' it but b4 this.... check ur wiring once again to prevent another dead fuse.

s**t didnt think of the main fuses. I got heaps of them spare here. Ill give that ago. But i think its the BEM cause the radio and int light wont work and they are wired to the light arent they.

mate, if ya interior light doesnt work, you have probably blown a fuse, i cant remember its name, IIRC its in the panel above your right knee.

Smartlock, the interor light and radio are all wired upto it IIRC.

even if ya think ya checked them, pull them all out again and check,

almost certainly sounds like a CRT LMP fuse to me
which is ignition power to pretty much EVERYTHING including the coil

Hey guys,my fiance has a 93 EB I6 Fairmont with smartlock and it has the similar symptoms. But it has no spark and no injector pulse. The pump works, the interior light works every thing works except for the Smartlock light on the dash.It doesnt illuminate.I have checked the distributor/the coil/the relays under the header tank/checked the fusable links/checked fuses under the dash/Also switched ECU's.The car cranks over but doesnt start.Any places that i have missed or any suggestions, much appreciated.Could it be the BEM/Smartlock Module??Thanks

stomper, when you did the central job, did you add your own new wires, or try to use the factory wires when you fit the door motors?

Is your smartlock light coming on at all?

Strange if its the BEM, because looking at the schematics, it also supplies positive to the starter relay. Don't know if it does so in fail-safe or fail-secure mode, but sounds like it might not be the BEM.

Go back to basics - air, fuel, spark. Put a positive on the red wire going to your air bypass solenoid and see if it fires. This also supplies the injectors, so as long as theres a PIP signal, it should run.
