I got problem about my ford EF 1995 fairmont, please tell me what is the problem
1. My engine shake a bit when i change gear from N to D or N to R. ( while car is stopped) rmp is decreased to under 500rmp in few second and up to 800 rmp then.

2. I think, old battery is very low so i change to a new battery , however, i still got the problem.

Before i change the battery , i ever jump start 1 time because My car is no more power.

what is the problem in my car , Please help me thank all guy so much.

Chances are the ecu will have to relearn. When you changed the battery it forogt how your motor needed to idle. Give it a week or so, and it should be back to normal.

try cleaning your ISC, if may be full of crap.. when did you last change/chack your filters?

but I would maybe think ISC could do with a clean up, had a similar issue with an old EF XR6 auto.. just take it off and spray some carby cleaner in it.

what he said also check for vacuum leaks,any small hoses off or loose. :roll: :roll: also map sensor check

highly doubt its the map sensor.. they are pretty durable.. but worth looking at while you are there I guess.

i say cam angle sencer is starting to play up .it is comon with the fairmonts

my car just stalls as soon as i release the key from the start position. So its impossible to drive.

This only happend to me after i got a flat battery and recharged it. WTF is going on :evil:

fairmonts have the falcon engine so are the same so its not entirely the fairmonts only... :wink:

i've been told by an auto electrition that once your battery goes flat buy a new one,,they aren't designed to be charged by anything other than a alternater if you know what i mean,,or if you cn jump start of another car,,but your on borrowed time.
