How do I get the new pulley onto the new pump?

The shaft is threaded inside, so I'm guessing a bolt down the shaft pressing onto some washers, and then the pulley will squeeze it together.
But the fit is so tight, the pulley just turns & I can't find anywhere to get some decent leverege.

Pulley and Pump are both from Ford.

Ideas?

only way is with a rattle gun or the easiest way is to find someone with a press and press it on and dont forget to support the impellor with a nut or spacer when you do else you will 100% guaranteed be going to get a new pump

if you purchased from ford dealer they will most likely do it for free in workshop

or if you got a bigass vice you could try the old vice/socket trick but its a very tight fit and you have to press on square

I have heated the pulley up until way to hot to handle - smoking then it goes on or off easier. When the thing has cooled down wipe it over with oil or grease because it turns to a rust finish overnight.

the only one that is available with pulley on is the burson unit.
when you compare the finish to that of a genuine ford one you will notice the difference straight away.
this is one part where you go genuine only, my opinion.

having said this i have a burson unit as it came with the pulley fitted and i didn't have anything to fit it back then, next time i will go genuine.
