or the good old screw driver trick while someone revs the car at 2200rpm and i bet you will find the problem in no time

but in saying that i bet it is the timing chain that is not tensioned properly because i have the exact problem as you and it started at 240,000km 250,000km later and i still haven't fixed it yet not that it has got worse or anything

new or used chain doesn,t mean squat these days

Is there anyway of making the chain tighter because the tensioner is released properly.

I'm starting to lean towards timing chain in my au. Once it's tensioned it's tensioned, not sure about yours but mines got over 200,000 hard kms on it so i'm assuming the chains just knackered. Last time I had the rocker cover off it had a fair bit of slack across the top sprocket (where you notice wear). Needs a timing chain kit put through but i'm not about to do that anytime soon.
