i have picked up an EB GLI with an engine mounted fan, is there any easy way to get the c&%t off without special tools???
please help !!!!!

lol, yeah... you jam a screwdriver in between the small bolts, while you undo teh 32mm huge nut. Just remember that it is a left hand thread.. so "tighten" it in relation to normality.

if its a I6 then yes its is reverse thread other wise its normal thread for a V8

32mm, f**k! ,the shifter won't fit but if I weld some broken 5/8 open ender to it ,it apears to have enough clearance to keep going around till it falls off. I think the C*** is overheating because of the factory hose spring has been helping the water pump impeller get smaller! cos it over heats when at higher speeds, the rad is new ,head is a tickford and it doesn't have a thermostat installed ( I was gonna take it out to drive home from the big smoke 2day, but found an open hole under the housing) surprise,surprise! The timing is a little advanced, but going into the red on the Fway nah not a factor (I believe anyway)
