my house mate's xr6 has a cd jam. how do you get it out he says there is nothing in the manual about troubleshooting this problem...

i had a look my self i think you gotta take the face off, but taking the face off do you need to get in under it by taking out the other mould that has the "power adapter" on it?????????

Or do you need special tools... and then what about the secuity codes and stuff for when he put the cd player back in..

thanks everyone

Same thing happened to the CD stacker in my XR6.

I was not game to take the thing apart, so I took the
car to my local Ford dealer and they replaced the whole
unit with an exchange, under warranty luckily.

However, the following link may be helpful to you..

Are you talking about the ICC unit as in BA onwards? If so the ICC must come out then the CD player its self which has the amp attached to the top of the player. It takes about 1 1/2 hours all up to remove ICC, remove CD's, fix issue with CD's jambing and refitting. If your in Melbourne i can do it for you. PM me if interested. I have another guy that needs his done also.
