Ride: BF XR6,

the other nite i turned my high beam lights on and the low beam turned off and i only had parking lights and the blue light on the dash didnt come on, i turned it bak to low beam and the low beam turned back on, just wondering if its a fuse or something?

My old Au did this, turned out to be a section of wiring had rubbed through the insulation under the battery tray and was arcing to earth when the high beams wrer flicked on. Eventually it decided to melt the fuse block...

Checked wires and none of them were exposed so I changed the reley with a spare and its all good, thanks

beside the battery is a relay block with a lid and 4 relays inside...

one is horn, one is low beams, one is high beams, one is starter...

tried another combo switch to see if that fixes the problem? If you have a spare that is...

What you describe is correct... When you go to high the low beams elements turn off and the high beam elements in the low beam bulbs turn on...

So the low beam relay works, sounds like the trigger circuit or the relay for the highs is stuffed...
