after my head gasket was changed, my car now idles at 1200rpm, even with a/c on and high beam and spotties it still sits over 1000rpm.
cleaned and inspected idle control solenoid seemed ok because when i desconected it when running the engine stalled. the butterfly valve is closed and exelerator cable not too tight. even tryed Reseting the computer but still didn't help. couldn't see any vacume lines out of place either. seems like something is telling the ICS to idle high. and also when started cold it hunts for idle for around 20sec dropping to 400rpm and upto 900rpm.

any suggestions?

sorry about the long post.

Maybe the throttle cable wasn't put back on properly... maybe too tight? look at the throttle body and see if the spring loaded part touches the stopper when idle
