follow your top radiator hose towards the head and i think it 2 bolts that hold down a cover. its under the cover

Yeh its on the front of the motor at the top, to the right of the motor when you're looking at it from the front, its in front of the intake manifold. Theres a large and a small hose running to the thermostat housing.
You will lose coolant/water when changing a thermostat, and its a good idea to get a new rubber seal (they dont come with the new thermostat). 2 bolts, up comes housing and you can pull out the thermostat.
I'd also recommend a 180-185F thermostat over the 195F. (82C vs 91C)

so ya just go to repco ! ask for a 82 deg thermostat !
undo two bolts .
pop old thermo out ! replace with new 1.
then do you need to torque wrench it afterwards !
also aprox how much coolant will ya lose doing this.
and what benefits will the new 82 deg thermo do for my piece o s**t. :D

Not that much, if you're parnoid you can drain it back from the small hose into a bucket then re use it. I just topped it up with water.
I didnt use a torque wrench, though you 'should' just did it up til it was firm, doesnt leak.
Cooler thermostat means the motor will run cooler (good in general) and can take more of a flogging before you'll notice it warming up.

Don't do the bolts up too tight, you will be spewing if you break one. The belt cover will have to come off too. Do yourself a favour and buy the service manual.

Ah yep, forgot about the belt cover. just take the power steering pump lid off and undo the nut on the other end (which is on the thermostat housing).
