It does nothing!
I can post how too erase fault codes the correct way later if you want.

so when someone tells u after every mod u do to your car "mechanical" u should reset your ecu eg= exhaust , cam, cold air extra its all bull$hit then.....

Your ecu should be behind the passenger's kick panel, in the foot well (look at the glovebox, it's about 1ft diagonally left of there.)

I didn't realise it was an old one, i'm reading through it thinking "the brake lights don't come on unless the car is on anyway" and lo and behold I had already posted it a year and a half ago!

i was reading a step by step guide to do after re-setting the ecu to get the best perfomance.

this is from the first paragraph..

If the calibration is not performed following power source interruption, the transmission will shift hard and perform poorly from then on.


so if your car is already running pooh, it wouldnt hurt to reset the ecu.

Correct, it wont hurt. Worst case scenario you just waste a few minutes of your time trying :)
