I have an EL tickford motor I6 ghia with the tickford 3.45gears

I have added Extractors and 2.5inch exhaust system, K&N Panel filter and AU intake snorkel.

How much extra power can I bank on?? How much power are they standard?

Will this flog the 302 injected V8 in standard form down the quarter?

By the way EBV8 is back in the house, loaded guns ready to retort you all

1st Answer;

Depending on what dyno you test your car on. With the mods you have mentioned on the car i would say on the Jim Mock Dyno you will probably get 140mockawatts and on the Chiptorque dyno on the Gold Coast i would say between 117-120RWKW. Very accurate dyno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stock EL Ghia would be about 103RWKW AUTO and 108RWKW Manual.

Stock EF/EL 4.0lFalcon about 97-100RWKW.


2nd Answer;

Depending on the condition of the V8 ford, if it's an auto your will probably beat it but if it's a manual and in tip top condition, it would be very close.

I am guessing your El ghia has an auto
so I would be looking at a low 15sec pass, you really need to get an aftermarket cam fitted and a manual gearbox to get into the high 14's.

about 105-110kw standard with the mods you will prob get between 115-130rwkw. ALL dynos are diffrent


will it flog a 302??? simply too many factors to consider. that is the one and only answer unless you can specify if THEIR auto/manual, lsd?, amount of kms, condition of motor gearbox diff tires, all these things matter heaps AND MORE IMPORTENTLY WAT CAR ITS OFF.

how many extra rwkw would i get from a full rebuild with extractors 2.5" zorst highflow cat, port and poliched, crow cam and heavy duty springs

your mods sound very similar to mine, and last dyno check i had 119rwkw. However I've got a manual, and I'm guessing that you've got an auto since it's a fairmont. I haven't got the au snorkel. still got the el one.

will a i6 beat the v8?, well mine did, el xr8 on the forums here couldn't beat me down the quarter mile at heathcote all day. i was posting about 15.2

I think the diff ratio played a huge part. his diff had 3.08 where as i have 3.45

I wouldn't try to run against Dave now, not since he got the supercharger working properly and the 4.11's in the rear end.

Everyone who seems to get a set of extractors fitted by them come back with 200kw lol
