you can never make a 6 sound like an 8,
pacemaker extractors and a decent 2.5 inch catback exhaust with a single muffler will make it loud and sound alright at times,
depending on the brand some 6's sound alright,
nothing will ever compare to a v8 though.
ive got a lukey system on my ef, lukey and redback seem to be the most popular combined with pacemaker extractors.
although my dads got a walker exhaust and 'hiflow' or 'hitech' extractors (cant remember) and his actually could be mistaken for a v8 it sounds beefy as, its a manual though, auto's seem to drone alot

At work I've seen a couple of EF's and EL's that sound alright with just pace maker extractors and the last muffler replaced with some strait pipe... doesnt sound too bad but its not really that loud either... but it sounds tuff, doesnt really have that droneing noise though which is good.

To the original poster, remove your engine, install V8, enjoy noise, easy as pie :P
