I've had 3.9's with alotta head work/cam etc and still used to get 450 outta a tank easy.

If you're going to get extractors/cam down the track i'd get a 2500 or 2800 RPM stally with lock up, cruising would be like normal, but launching it would be 100x better.

I noticed only a minor increase in fuel consumption going from 3.08 to 3.89s behind an auto, and thats only because my driving mix was 10% town 90% highway. Someone who does 50/50 I reckon would see better economy, because 3.89s dont use as much fuel around town under normal driving.

iirc there was a fella in the FS section selling a set of 3.7's for 200 bob just last week. For under a grand you could buy the gears, have them fitted, and have a speedo corrector installed with change for a few tanks of fuel that you will be burning up putting the foot down for the first few weeks as you enjoy how much better the car feels.

hey all, im driving an EL 6 and she is really boggy off the line but when it picks up revs it takes off pretty quick. basically stock with a 2.5" inch sports exhaust and a K&N panel filter. anybody have any ideas on how i could get her takin off faster?

Bet my ef that your ignition timing is out.

a falcon with 3.23s and Auto isnt fast off the mark but I wouldn't say "slow" mine gets off the line just fine, Most of the time if i stomp on it off the mark it spins the wheels. They arnt that bad. My ef is stock it pulls 100 in about 8 secs.

I found when my diff was a 3.08, it was best to spins the wheels a little bit to get the revs up quicker.

If you have enough budget then you can turbo it. That's the best bang for buck and the only way you can really giggle like a little school girl when she hits boost.
