my box cars one sits about an inch shorter than that, maybe more but it's straight, not offset forwards and i still think it's too far away unless i drive grandma spec. hows yours feel ? I also deleted the rubber insulaters on mine. not sure weather i would advise doing this unless your fairly intimate with your gearbox lol.

I'm glad you're getting rid of the gear knob...looks hideous IMO. Just get a stock one.

the only reason i made mine straight was because the previous owner reduced mine to beyond the dog leg and i never knew it was meant to offset lol. i just thought the offset went backwards not forwards.

I think he was talking about the bend in the stick to move the top of the stick further away from the dash when at 1st/2nd/5th gear...so that it doesn't hit the dash. If it were straight and at stock height, you'll be knuckle busting the H/U.

Short sticks are for fags with short d**k. Get yourself a short THROW stick, you can do it yourself if you have the smarts. You need to raise the fulcrum of the stick about an inch or so. It tightens the gate making the trip from first to second shorter therefore making the shift faster (not necessarily a good thing with a synchro box). All the while retaining the original length in the stick. A plus when doing big skids or the odd bit of track work as you dont have to reach down from the wheel as far meaning more control. Lol, but seeing as half you pricks are of the 'fast n furious' generation ya prolly couldn't drive a fist full of s**t through an S bend anyway.
