Howdy.

I know this is a long shot, but has anyone:

a) had their car dynoed before and after installing an AU metal head gasket.

AND / OR:

b) notice any performance gain from the increase in compression from the AU metal head gasket.

Thanks in advance.

Dont think you would get any or little performance gain from that.

Yeah you won't get much performance gain. But you will find that the head won't blow as easily as the E-series ones.

it would up the compression a little bit, but i dont think it would be enough to make it felt in the drivers cabin. then again some people have installed pods and suddenly have 13 sec 4 litres

my dad did a gasket on a 89 EA fairmont at 100k....... he used a standard brand new EA rubber gasket........ its now just clicked over to 320 thousand and hasnt missed a single beat, or used a drop of oil......... if u ask me, its who does the job more than the gasket of choice

usually the gaskets dead thats why u replace it,
So from the period of said 1 dyno run, to after the gasket change theres more wear and tear.
and usually theres some sort of 'reco' head and or oil/plugs etc change also.

i'd say thered be a non noticable difference but a happier motor

You wouldn't notice anything, but then there are guys on here who notice a Tickford snorkle from a stock one so i'm sure they'll tell you otherwise LOL.

You might even find less power if you've got a lot of carbon in your chambers and the thinner head gasket bumps up compression enough to make it ping...

People talk a lot of wank lol..
I've just put on a AU gasket, with a ported head, mild cam, and El fans.

i've noticed a small increase in power..

i've been told el fans add 10-15kw's alone! ha ha ha they make the car rev quicker but thats about it i reckon. as for the head, who knows. At least it won't blow!
