you'll get less if you try sell everything together. if you split it up a sell the bonnet, wing etc seperate you'll get more overall. mods mean nothing when buying a car, in most cases de-values it as people think you are a rev head and have thrashed the car.

my mate sells cars and he had an 04 manual XR6 ute will same sort of K's as you for $28K starting price. that was about 8months ago and they have dropped dramatically since then. as said above turbos are going as low as low-mid $20k nowerdays.

starting price $26K and see how ya go.

well the rims will have to stay on because i dont have the standard rims but if i put the rest stock with the rims still on it coulndt i ask $2000 more than what the car usually goes for seeming i brought the rims for $4200?

Brendan

PS reason why i want to sell it, is because i am looking at buying a WRX or a new FPV, i am leaning towards the FPV though 8-)

you can always advertise it for more but people won't want to pay it. especially if someone doesn't like the rim design.

i wish i lived where all of you guys lived. The cheapest i have seen an XR6 na is around the $24000 mark, the lowest i've seen the turbos high 20s or low 30s. But i agree with these guys, modifications like yours gives people the idea the car has been thrashed, and that can de-value the car

Im not sure his mods give the idea of being thrashed..
he has oversized wheels.. and some rice..

no performance mods..

Don't like the black bonnet
Alteza tail lights are for ricers

mods look good but don't count for squat when it comes to selling a car.. I would suggest low $20's, even then you may be pricing yourself out of the market.

You would get $25,000 with the current mods(advertise it for 26/27). Because it is unusual, it will take longer to sell. I would spend $300 on some king springs. Dont worry about the colours, who ever buys it can paint the spoiler if they want. If you are intending buying another Ford, keep the rims/bonnet etc for your new car.

Thanks all for the reply's the reason i haven't lowered it or done any mods to the engine or exhaust is so i don't void the warranty.

I have just put it on carsales

[url]http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_vehicle?total_rec=46&search_distance=25&vehicle_id=3452221&model_id=17&badge_id=26767&state_id=7¤t_rec=6&search_type=21&used_rec=139&make_id=6

If the link doesn't work just copy and paste it. i put it in there for $27990ono. Im' not in a hurry to sell the car so there is no rush....

I was wondering which is the best way of advertising to sell my car?

Dont know if the net is the best way... I guess people could come from Sydney or Tasmania if they loved it!

Hey all,

I ended up trading in my car and i got $23000 for it, I can't complain seeming i would of only got $24000 to $25000 selling it private and got myself a 2003 Subaru WRX MY03 in the rally blue colour, all standard with original mats thrown in worth $250... Only paid $10000 change over and thats including transfer fees.

I left the rims and GTP rear spoiler on the car but now i just got a original XR6 rear spoiler, bonnet, xr8 bonnet (the one in the pic) for sale now...

Anyone no how much i could get for the following items

XR6 Factory rear spoiler
XR6 original Bonnet
XR8 Bonnet (one in the pic)

Cheers
Brendan

Best way to find the real value of your car is to put it on eBay with a high reserve on it so that it doesnt actually sell.

The biggest misconception about eBay is that you get a bargain. The truth is, on eBay, you pay current market price for the majority of items, the only 'bargains' are the cheap Chinese counterfeits which break in 2 weeks. On eBay these days, there is so many potential buyers browsing, that any real bargain gets bid on immediately, thus pushing the price up to its real value.

Putting your car on eBay with a high reserve and a $0.99 starting bid for 7 or 9 days will give you some idea of the true market value.

Look at the EF Falcons on ebay right now. They all have 2500 to 6000 buy-it-now prices, but the auction bids rarely go above $1500, which in my opinion is around about right.
