have you tried cleaning the idle controll solonoid or replacing it with one from the wreckers and reset the idle. check out the mapsensor vaccume line they are renound for cracking right on the bends, or spray some carby cleaner arond all of your vaccume hoses and inlet gaskets to see if theres any air leaks, also the injectors could be leaking does it run rich eg.blow black smoke?

when u replaced your coil and distributor, did u fit new plugs and leads also? if not, what are they like? it could be a blocked fuel filter, but that would usually cause different symptoms, although it could cause it. as mentioned, clean your ISC, but also your throttle body These can often get dirty, and can cause idling issues. obviously check for vac leaks, could also be something like a leaky valve. That injector cleaner stuff that you put in the tank doesnt work too well, so rip your injectors out and get a place to clean them properly, that's another option. A compression check should show up any leaky valves. Do you have an XR6 computer in it? if you have a GLi computer in an XR it may idle roughly. also you might want to make sure it has an XR6 fuel pressure regulator. Check these things, and get back to us.

Good Luck, Gab
