G'day, I've got more problems with my cam and chip...
Basically when I first installed the cam I got it running without the chip. But after driving for a little while and in between gear changes, the car would hold its revs for a long time before returning to idle.

To rectify this temporarily I unplugged the idle control sensor (or whatever its called). and boosted the idle up a bit to stop from stalling.

Then I got the chip and installed that and at least after returning the idle to normal position the car doesn't stall and it idles properly.

BUT!

In between gear changes and after revving it, the revs either don't drop, or they drop very slowly...What should I do? Nothing like this ever happened with the old cam, and I'm not switching back to it!

Anyway, i prefer whats happening now compared to the car stalling on me while it was warming up, but what should I do?

TPS issues - pretty sure it is anyways. Johno has a fix for this - he just needs to remember it, and then do it on both our cars!

Sounds like manifold leaking to me..... especially since it's been off recently and it's only happened since it's been off?

Spray some CRC around the intake manifold. That'll show up any leaks.

Anything flamable than comes in an aerosole will show up the leaks.

Some of the more expensive mechanics have smoke generators and fill teh engine bay with smoke to find the leaks.

I doubt that it would be anything to do with intake manifold leaks because I never removed it and i was only doing this after the cam, not before. It could be conincidental but i don't think so.

Jonno had the same problems with this cam too as far as I know. Anyone know how he fixed it?

as i said above - TPS issues! he re-drilled the positioning holes on the TPS in order for it to sit correctly...
